Krishna Devkota. PhD.

Dr. Krishna Devkota has been working in the field of disaster risk management since March 2011. Dr. Devkota served as a Senior Researcher at the National Disaster Management Institute of Korean Government based in Seoul; Technical Specialist at Asian Disaster Preparedness Center based on Bangkok; Disaster Risk Management Specialist at Terrasense Switzerland Pvt. Ltd. and Nepal Red Cross Society based on Kathmandu, Nepal.

Dr. Devkota is a Subject Head of Disaster Risk Reduction at Armed Police Force Command and Staff College under Tribhuvan University since May 2016. He also served as a visiting faculty at Central Department of Geology, Department of Geology of Tri-Chandra Campus, and Institute of Crisis Management Studies, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He teaches disaster risk management, hydrogeology, tunneling, and underground excavation to master’s students, and supervises master’s degree dissertations.

He has published research articles in various journals including Natural Hazards, Arabian Journal of Geosciences, Geosciences Journals, and Landslides. Additionally, he has extensively disseminated his knowledge about landslide risk management, disaster resilient infrastructure development, and post-earthquake reconstruction in Nepal and abroad.

Dr. Devkota finished his Ph.D. in February 2011 majoring Geology form Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea. He has an avid interest in geohazards and its impacts on economy, infrastructure, and society.
