Dr. Shobha Poudel is an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in climate change adaptation, disaster risk management, agriculture and food security, and environmental economics across South Asia, holding a PhD from Kyoto University. She has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship, the Marie Curie Fellowship, and recognition as one of the 50 Influencing Women of Nepal 2024, and serves as a Coordinating Lead Author for the IPCC AR7. Committed to inclusiveness and bridging science with policy, she actively contributes to building resilient societies with equitable access to essential services while leading key regional research initiatives and organizations supporting women scientists.
